Winston Donnell Age 22 (Part Time) A. Coy
9th August 1971. He was shot more than 30 times by gunmen who
opened fire on a vehicle checkpoint near the Tyrone Donegal border. He was
the 1st UDR soldier to be killed by Terrorists. He was single and on duty
at the time of his death

Kenneth Smyth Age 28 (Part Time) B. Coy.
10th December 1971. One of 2 men killed near a border farmhouse.
The 2nd man was ex Pte Daniel McCormick, he had recently resigned from the
Regiment. Sgt Smyth had survived a previous attempt to kill him. He was
married and off duty at the time of his death.

Ted Megahey Age 45 (Part Time) E. Coy.
9th June 1972. Fatally injured in an IRA attack on the 7th June
1972 as he travelled by convoy to relieve men at a vehicle checkpoint. He
was single and on duty at the time of his death.

William J. Bogle Age 28 (Part Time) B. Coy.
5th December 1972. Shot by the IRA as he sat in his car with his
children outside a post office. He died in his wife’s arm’s as their children watched. He was married
with 3 children and off duty at the time of his death.

Robert N. Jameson Age22 (Part Time) F. Coy.
17th January 1974. Shot by the IRA getting off a bus near his home
near Trillick. His mother was en-route to pick him up and found her son lying on the
ground. He was single and off duty at the time of his death.

Eva Martin Age 28 (Part Time) C. Coy.
2nd May 1974. The first female
soldier of the security forces to die in the
troubles, She was killed in an IRA rocket and gun attack on the UDR Base
at Clogher, Her husband also a UDR part timer was on duty the night she
was killed at the Base. Her Father died of shock five days later. She was
married and on duty at the time of her death.

W. Derek Kidd Age 37 (Part Time) A. Coy.
18th November 1976. Shot at point blank range by 2 gunmen in the
Waterside area of Londonderry as he left a hut on a housing executive
building site. He was married with 3 children and off duty at the time of
his death.

William J. McKee Age 61 (Part Time) F. Coy.
14th April 1978. Ambushed and shot by 2 women and a man while
driving the school bus in Omagh. He was a widower and was off duty at the
time of his death.

John Graham Age 55 (Part Time) F. Coy.
25th April 1979. Shot by the IRA on his regular tour of local
farms in the Omagh Area collecting milk. He was married with 5 children and was off duty at the time of his death.

John A. Hannigan Age 33 (Part Time) F. Coy.
19th June 1979. Shot by the IRA as he came out of a confectionary
shop in Omagh. He was walking to work and was only a short distance from
his home. He was married with 3 children and off duty at the time of his
death.

James A. Robinson Age 20 (Part Time) C. Coy.
19th October 1979. Shot by the IRA as he drove his milk van on his
regular route, The IRA issued a statement saying he was executed because
he was a member of the British Imperialist War Machine.
He was single and off duty at the time of his death.

Willie J. Clarke Age 59 (Full Time) B. Coy.
3rd August 1980. Shot by the IRA 400 yards inside County Donegal
after he had been to visit relatives in the border village. He was married
with 4 children and off duty at the time of his death.

Johnny McKeegan Age 49 (Part Time) A. Coy.
19th November 1981. Shot dead as he made a delivery to a house in
Strabane, which had been taken over by gunmen four hours earlier. The
delivery order place by a girl in her twenties was later found to be
bogus. He was married with 3 children and off duty at the time of his
death.

J. Leslie Hamilton Age 37 (Part Time) A. Coy
27th April 1982. Shot by the IRA as he made a regular delivery to
a supermarket in Londonderry, 10 to 12 shots were fired at him as he and a
colleague unloaded bread. He was married with 2 children and off duty at
the time of his death.

H. A. (Lexi) Cummings Age 39 (Part Time) A. Coy.
15th June 1982. Shot by the IRA as he got into his car to drive
home for lunch in Strabane, Three masked gunmen drove along side his car
and fired at close range. He was single and off duty at the time of his
death.

Ronnie Alexander Age 19 (Full Time) D. Coy.
13th July 1983. One of 4 soldiers killed when a 600lb bomb
exploded beneath their Land Rover at BALLYMACKILROY between GARVAGHY and
BALLYGAWLEY on the main road from OMAGH He was single and on duty at the
time of his death.

13th July 1982. Same Incident as above. He was married with 1
child and on duty at the time of his death.

13th July 1982. Same Incident as above. He was single and on duty
at the time of his death.

13th July 1982. Same Incident as above. He was married with 1
child and on duty at the time of his death.

Ronnie D. Findlay Age 32 (Part Time) B. Coy.
23rd August 1983. Shot by the IRA as he left work at a
Knitwear factory, a gunman, riding pillion on a motorcycle carried out the
shooting. 6 people were held at gunpoint in a house at Strabane while 2
gunmen took the motorcycle for use in the attack. He was married with 3
children and off duty at the time of his death.

Greg Elliott Age 25 (Part Time) B. Coy.
2nd January 1984. Ambushed by the IRA at his home as he got into
his van at Castlederg.
The shooting by 2 gunmen was witnessed by his 69 year old widowed Mother.
He was single and off duty at the time of his death.

Thomas A. Loughlin Age 44 (Part Time) B. Coy.
2nd March 1984. Fatally injured by an IRA booby trap planted under
his Dept Of Environment van.
The device exploded not far from his home at Castlederg as his wife and
baby daughter waved goodbye, He died 3 hours later in Hospital. He was
married with 4 children and off duty at the time of his death.

Ivan E. Hillen Age 45 (Part Time) C. Coy.
12th May 1984. Shot dead by the IRA at his farm at Augher on the
border, he was shot at point blank range as he opened the door to the
piggery feeding unit 200 yards from his home. His wife found him. He was
married with 1 child and off duty at the time of his death.

Heather. C. J. Kerrigan Age 20 (Part Time) B. Coy.
14th July 1984. One of 2 soldiers killed in a 200lb IRA landmine
explosion outside Castlederg, the device was detonated from across the
border and afterwards the patrol, came under fire from gunmen, She died in
the helicopter on the way to hospital. Heathers brother was seriously
injured in the attack. She was single and on duty at the time of her
death.

14th July 1984. As the above incident. He was single and on duty
at the time of his death.

W. Victor Foster Age 18 (Part Time) B. Coy.
15th January 1986. Killed when an IRA bomb exploded in his car a
100 yards from his home in SPAMOUNT, Castlederg, His fiancée who was with
him was seriously injured and lost the sight of an eye. They were due to
be married in August. He was single and off duty at the time of his death.

Thomas J. Irwin Age 52 (Part Time) F. Coy.
26th March 1986. Shot dead by an IRA gunman as he worked at a
sewage plant near MOUNTFIELD, some miles outside OMAGH , He was shot at
close range, His Brother Cpl Frederick Irwin was shot dead at his work by
the IRA in 1979. He was married with 4 children and off duty at the time of his death.

William C. Pollock Age 27 (Part Time) B. Coy.
26th March 1986. Killed by an IRA booby trap bomb which exploded
as he attached a trailer to his car out side his home in Castlederg. His
Parents sitting in a car nearby were injured. He had only been married 6
months. He was married and off duty at the time of his death.

Ivan R. K. Anderson Aged 47. C. Coy (Part Time)
21st May 1987. Ambushed by the IRA as he drove home from his
Primary School. His car careered out of control and after a few hundred yards crashed on
an isolated road. The RUC at first thought they were attending the scene of an accident.
He was single and off duty at the time of his death.

Michael Darcy Age 28 (Full Time) D. Coy.
4th June 1988. Shot by the IRA 6 times in the back as he arrived
home in his car at Castlederg after an evening out. He was single and off
duty at the time of his death.

Olven L. Kilpatrick Age 32 (Part Time) B. Coy.
9th January 1990. Shot by the IRA as he worked in his shoe shop in
Castlederg. The 2 gunmen left a bomb in a shoe box after the killing,
which exploded an hour later. He was married with 2 children and off duty
at the time of his death.
